Virgin Mary in Cebu Crying Blood ?

A lot of people are coming in a small chapel in Cebu for two weeks now. It seems like a miracle happened there. The residents believe that an image of a Virgin Mary cried blood.

The chapel is located in barangay Ocana, Carcar City, Cebu. Huge number of believers are going in to offer flowers and candles. It is the first time that the chapel was able to experience the number of visitors.

In 2002 the family of Regis bought the image of Virgin Mary. They believed that it came from the miraculous church of Simala in Cebu also.

Some pilgrims are leaving cash donations and so far they have collected a total of P5,000 and they will be using it to repaint the chapel.

The first one to notice the blood stains was John Patrick, a 5-year old boy who was playing inside the chapel.

The family wanted to keep what happened with the icon because somehow they are still in doubt. They have no idea how the news spread out.

The chapel of the Our Lady of Fatima in Carcar City will have some minor renovation to accommodate the daily stream of visitors

John Patrick told his parents what he saw inside the chapel but the parents did not believe him until they went to the chapel and saw what happened there.

According to the episcopal vicar of the Cebu Archdiocese, Msgr. Esteban Binghay, it is still early to conclude that it was a miracle. Experts still have to authenticate it.

Still, he told the devoters to keep their faith to the Blessed Virgin Mary by praying the Rosary.

He also directed the parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Fr. Marlito Binondo to state what happened and submit a report.
