An episode of Maalaala mo kaya had been one of the most notable one. It was the episode of Popcorn which revolved around two young people who experienced puppy love.

It was love at first sight for a girl named Kat-kat (Eliza Pineda). When he saw Roel (Joshua Dionisio) at the carnival where Roel's family sells popcorn for a living every December. Just like a lightning, puppy love struck her.

And in love, when you fall be sure that you are also prepared to get hurt because you cannot love without getting hurt. When she found out that Roel has a crush on her friend and he wants Kat-kat to act as a bridge to be able to communicate with her friend.

But little did she know that Roel would notice her and eventually gave his attention to her. She had all the first with Roel, first time to feel the love and affection aside form family, first hug and first kiss. She could not get over those thoughts.

But their love story did not last long because Roel's family had to leave as soon as the Holidays were over. Their communication was not as often as before. Their relationship got colder. Then December came again, that was when she discovered that Roel already had a different girlfriend. Her heart was broken but with the help of his family she overcame her very first heartbreak.
