But what was the reason why it attacked the predator?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It was because of the best intuition, a mother's instinct. The mother had her calf nearby. The mother hippopotamus had no plan of eating the crocodile, but it attacked because she wanted to protect her baby hippo.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The mother hippopotamus charged out of the water and attacked the crocodile. She was able to grip the crocodile, but it escaped and nowhere to be seen. It was a very close call for the crocodile, luckily, it escaped and it was seen that the crocodile would need time for recovery.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">After frightening the crocodile, the mother hippo went back to her baby hippo to continue their bond.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It is really wonderful how mothers could have the instinct whenever their babies are in danger.
