The Miss Universe pageant is one of the most prestigious beauty contest around the world. Being one of the candidates is a great opportunity that requires beauty, grace, wisdom and attitude. 

One of the prizes in the said event is the Miss Universe Crown, which is a symbol that the candidate stood out from the rest. 

The crown with its stunning gems and amazing design costs $300, 000 to make it happen. It was produced by the Diamond International Corporation (DIC). 

On the official website of DIC, the crown was said to be inspired by the Skyline of Manhattan. The design had to be hand drawn to work out. The meticulous process of approving the designs passed to the Miss Universe Organization. 



After the approval comes the preparation and reproduction in Czech Republic. 

It had to be made by 10 people together with the hard work of the people. 

Here are the details that made the crown worth being at the head of a queen consist of the following:

Diamond: 311 pcs – 11ct
Blue Topaz – 5 pcs – 100 ct
Blue Sapphire – 198 pcs – 30 ct
Crystal – 33 pcs
Gold – Au 585 – 14 ct – net weight of gold – 220g
Total weight of the crown – 411g

The Czech Embassy charge d'affaires named Jan Vytopil said,  “more modern designs of Bohemian Crystal Chandeliers made by Lasvit can also be found in some of the best hotels and residences in Metro Manila, like Raffles, Solaire, or more recently the Global Tower in BCG.”
