A sick Filipina, Marites Ruiz Albaran, has been receiving help by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to find her relatives in the Philippines. For over five years, she has been staying in a hospital near Tokyo, Japan.

In 2008, she underwent an operation, removal of a tumor in thoracic cavity, which resulted in severe bleeding and caused her to be bedridden. Her condition has been gradually progressing since then but she still has difficulty in speaking as a result of her having the Lance-Adams Syndrome.

She still needs the assistance of nurses on her activities of daily living. She wishes to be back in the Philippines and be taken care of by her family. Her Japanese Visa has already expired since 2002. Albaran’s mother is named Wilma or Nanay Inday and her last address in the Philippines is 18 B2, Block 7, Lot 7, NGCHP, Pilot area, Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
