Facebook announced that they will be adding options for the gender preferences in the profile of the Facebook users.

Aside from having the traditional Male and Female in the category, they will be adding options such as transgender or intersex.

These option may not be a big deal for most of the Facebook users but for those who are affected by the change it meant so much for them.

Facebook profile had been the identity of one user. It clearly represents each and everyone that uses the site. Thus, it would really make an impact to other people to completely tell in which gender they really belong to.

According to Facebook, different activists groups of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders will be the one to work of the thorough list of gender options which can be found inside the "other" category.

This new gender features will be available for US English users. But Facebook will definitely expand the implementation of the options.

Aside from having the opportunity to choose whether Male, Female or Others. Facebook is also giving the Users the chance to choose which title do they want to be called. They could opt to be referred to as "he/him" or "she/her" or by a neutral "they/their" choice.
