Filipinos were determined to be there as the 78 year old Pope delivered his powerful messages to the people of the country. They conquered the strong winds and rain that the bad weather gave them.

According to the Archbishop of Manila Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who acted out as a chaperone, Pope Francis was stunned by the number of crowd that was waiting for him.

The previous record of a papal gathering mass was 5 million during Pope John Paul's visit in 1995. But the present occasion drew 6 million people at the same venue.

In his mass, he spoke about three themes: "Poverty", "Ignorance", "Corruption", which he drew attention from the very first day of his visit.

The people patiently waited for the once in a lifetime chance of seeing the blessed Pope Francis at the mass which was held at the Quirino Grandstand.

This event only shows how Filipinos value their religion and how much love they have for the leaders of the church.
