Poverty is one of the greatest problems that every country has been going through. A lot of projects and financial assistance is being giveen by the government but it is not enough. People who are affected by poverty often does not have a choice but to make out something from nothing.
In Haiti, the poor people claims an idea about making a cookie from mud. They said that the cookies were traditionally used to fill their hungry stomachs. For pregnant woman it has a health benefit because of the calcium that the mud has.
From the composition of edible clay, these people mixed up vegetable and salt to it. Then, it is being cooked under the heat of the sun. Once it is already cooked, the makers would then gather it and sell it in the streets.
Based on the research that some health experts made, the mud cookie can have several health benefits, but it is also capable of giving toxins or parasites that eventually will be needing treatment.
