Saudi Employer Burns Pinay Worker by pouring Boiled water

Photos of a Filipina working as a household service in Riyadh,Saudi Arabia, is being posted online as she cries for help after an abusive treatment from her employer. This poor lady who is from Pikit, North Cotabato, had been working for two months without proper meal and salary. Fatma who is just 23 years old, had been poured of boiling water (from the thermos) last May 4 after her employer's mother got angry when she was not able to bring her coffee immediately.

She was brought to the hospital after few hours and was treated for her burns. On the third day of treatment, she gave a piece of paper secretly to the nurse with contact information of her older sister in the Philippines. Luckily, Fatma has relatives in Riyadh. The nurse was able to get their information because of her sister. When Fatma was brought back to the hospital for another treatment, her cousin was able to rescue her and took care of her. As she also posted the photos on facebook to appeal for help in filing a case against her abusive employer.

She is now under the custody of the Assistance to Nationals section of the Philippine embassy provided with food, clothing, toiletries and medicine according to a representative from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
