Internet is indeed powerful, it is a place that's full of people whom you shouldn't trust unless you already know them. We can't deny the fact that internet can really bring harm to us, especially to those teenagers. And also, teenagers often use internet for online dating sites where people can fake identities that can really bring one's life in danger.
In this case, what would you do if the man you talked to in the internet who said he was 16 turns out to be a 42 year old man in reality? Well, if you are one of the passerby and you see a 16 year old girl dating a 42 year old man, what would you do?
In this social experiment, they wanted to find out how other people will react when they witness a 16-year-old girl going out with a 42-year-old man that she just met online.
While Maria, the 16 year old girl was sitting across the man and having a conversation, people around them can't help but to listen to what they're talking about. Surprisingly, when the man was about to take Maria with him, the customers stepped in and tried to protect Maria from the old man. Majority of the people who helped Maria were mothers who also wanted their children to be protected. Some of the concerned citizens, even tried to contact cops.
This social experiment should serve as a lesson to each and everyone in the internet. This social experiment didn't just showed how people cared for this minor but it was also able to raise awareness to everyone about online predators.
